Natural Skin Care Products. Do The Ingredients Matter?

The ingredients of natural skin care products don’t matter as long as they work. Is that right? Are natural skin care ingredients irrelevant as long as the products work? Lets have a look at this as I saw that exact comment recently on a skincare website.
I dont care whats in it as long as it works.
Why is there such a consumer movement towards natural skin care products? There seem to be 2 reasons.
1. Gradually people are realizing that there really are many naturally occurring ingredients that are excellent for your skin.
Theres now no doubt about that. In the past I have talked about Phytessence Wakame for example. This is a seaweed found in Japan that has extraordinary properties that are excellent for skin health, and this is one of the major reasons why Japanese women have such good skin. They eat the important ingredient.
A second example is Shea Butter, the oil from a tree found in Africa called the Shea tree. It is a very good natural moisturizer. There’s many more examples of naturally occurring substances that are very good for your skin and as good, often better, than the ingredients found in mainstream skin care products.
2. And more and more consumers are also finding out that there can be dangerous ingredients in big brand skin care products. Often because the more natural alternative is way more expensive than a chemical alternative.
I have also written extensively about the dangerous ingredients that can be found in skin care products and cosmetics, (and some so called natural skin care products too).
So there are what I consider the 2 major reasons why people are turning to more natural alternatives. So it would seem that natural skin care ingredients do matter.
You the consumer wants SAFE ingredients and EFFECTIVE ingredients. So the whole consumer movement towards all natural and organic skincare products is driven by a concern about what INGREDIENTS are in them.
We demand safe and effective products.
Do all natural skin care products contain only safe and effective ingredients? No sadly.
But there is a process that you can go through to find the best natural skin care products that have ingredients that are both safe and effective. Ive done that and we are fully convinced that there are some outstandingly effective, and safe, natural skin care products available.
The best are made by a company that is a signatory to the Compact For Safe Cosmetics, and most importantly all the ingredients are listed clearly on their website so you can check what’s in the products.
That’s persuasive. I’ll tell you the name of the company on my website.
