Only a true sine wave inverter, not a modified sine wave device, will convert the energy properly, but at a higher price.

A nifty device that sits between the battery and the solar panel is called the charge controller. It is an essential component because it ensures that the voltage running into the battery is at the right level and it also ensures that the batteries don’t overcharge. A charge controller will also ensure that no power flows out of the batteries and back into the solar panel, which would be a waste. They also prevent overcharging of your batteries which can happen if they are not used.

As you can see, building a solar panel requires a bit of skill with tools but it is something anyone can do. Using your home built solar panels you could be powering your entire home with sunlight.
